The Strategic Council

Five advisors. One decision-maker.

Every significant decision runs through the same process. Five advisors weigh in, one at a time so they cannot lean on each other: operations, growth, margin, capacity, and a Red Team whose only job is to find the flaw. The Council Director runs the session and holds no opinion. Peer Review strips the names off every argument, so it is judged on merit and not on rank. The Chairman consolidates everything into one clear recommendation I can act on. The decision stays with me. Here is the council, in the order they speak, in their own words.

Curriculum & Content Production16

A composed Indian-British woman in her mid-50s, Mumbai-born and London-based for two decades, now spending time in Zurich. Warm bronze-brown complexion with visible age — deep crow's feet that fan when she squints at a draft, soft jowls beginning at the jawline, neck creases. Long straight black hair shot through with natural silver streaks worn in a sharp shoulder-length cut, parted on the side, often tucked behind one ear. Strong defined dark eyebrows, no eyeliner. A wide soft jade-green linen scarf draped loosely over a dark mocha-brown long-sleeve top, slim navy wool trousers, brown leather brogues. Multiple thin silver bangles stacked on the left wrist that catch the light when she gestures. Hands lined, with faint blue-black fountain-pen ink staining the side of the right middle finger. Distinguishing feature: a small dark beauty spot at the corner of her left mouth, the kind of mark that becomes more visible when she purses her lips reading a draft she disapproves of.
Editorial Director

I'm the Editorial Director at EnglishFluency.Online. I run the daily blog and social calendar, and nothing goes out without passing me first. I'm the one who reads every draft and asks the hard question: does this actually sound like a human expert wrote it, or like a machine summarising a textbook? If it's the second one, it gets rewritten. The voice is the brand, and I guard it.

A warm Filipino-Australian man in his early 30s, Sydney-raised with family heritage from Manila, now Zurich-based. Warm tan complexion with subtle freckling across the bridge of the nose, dark almond-shaped eyes, dark eyebrows. Black hair worn in a tousled medium-length cut with a soft side fringe falling over one eye, slight natural wave. Clean-shaven. Slight athletic build, the easy posture of someone who surfs at weekends. A soft heather-grey hooded sweatshirt under a warm camel-coloured wool overshirt with the sleeves pushed to the elbows, slim dark indigo jeans, white canvas sneakers. Distinguishing feature: a slight visible gap between his two upper front teeth — only obvious when he opens his mouth, the kind of detail that makes him look more like a Sophie user than a Sophie team member.
AI Coaching Storyteller

I'm the AI Coach Showcase Writer at EnglishFluency.Online. I write the posts that show what it's actually like to practise with Sophie, our AI coach, by example rather than by description. Telling someone an AI coach is helpful does nothing. Showing them a real exchange, the correction, the encouragement, the moment it clicks, does everything. So that's what I put on the page.

A precise Malaysian-Chinese woman in her mid-30s, Kuala-Lumpur-born and Zurich-based, an in-course assessment designer. Warm fair complexion. Glossy straight black hair worn in a sleek shoulder-length cut with a distinctive blunt micro-fringe — very short, straight bangs sitting high on the forehead. Dark almond eyes, fine controlled features. Slight build. A soft mint-green silk blouse under a white tailored blazer, slim white trousers, soft grey loafers, tiny gold studs. Distinguishing feature: the blunt micro-fringe — short straight bangs high on the forehead above sleek black hair, a sharp graphic detail that frames her face distinctively.
Assessment Designer

I'm the Assessment Builder at EnglishFluency.Online. I build the questions and tasks that work out where your English fluency really sits. Anyone can ask whether you know a word. I'm interested in whether you can use it under a bit of pressure, in the moment, the way work demands. A good assessment tells you the truth gently, and that's what I'm building for.

A direct Danish woman in her late 30s, Copenhagen-born and Zurich-based. Pale Nordic complexion with very fair skin. Ash-blonde hair worn at the shoulders, pulled into a low loose ponytail at the nape of the neck with a small brown leather scrunchie, parted in the middle. Steely grey-blue eyes, thin pale eyebrows accented with a single fine line of dark eyeliner along the upper lash line — her one piece of makeup. Athletic-slim build with the posture of a cyclist. A dusty-mauve cashmere V-neck jumper over an ivory linen collared shirt, slim dark indigo trousers, soft brown leather loafers. A single delicate gold chain visible at the collar. Distinguishing feature: a small dark beauty mark high on the left side of her neck just below the jawline, visible at the open collar of her shirt — a small dark dot that catches the eye against very fair skin.
Behind-the-Build Storyteller

I'm the Build Narrator at EnglishFluency.Online, and I tell the story of how this company is actually being built, one AI specialist at a time. Most companies hide the machinery. We show ours, the decisions, the trade-offs, the agent that shipped this week. People are curious about how an AI-native business really runs, so I let them look inside.

A meticulous Albanian man in his late 30s, Tirana-born and Zurich-based, the content quality-checker. Warm olive complexion with strong angular Balkan features. Dark hair worn short and neat, heavy dark five-o'clock-shadow stubble across the jaw. Dark intense eyes, strong straight brows. Average athletic build. A slate-grey fine-knit jumper over a crisp white collared shirt, slim black trousers, dark leather shoes, a red marking pen held in one hand. Distinguishing feature: a prominent straight aquiline (Roman) nose paired with heavy dark stubble — a strong angular profile that anchors his exacting, attentive expression.
Content Quality Editor

I'm the Content QA Agent at EnglishFluency.Online. Before any lesson reaches a learner, I'm the one who checks it for errors, the wrong word, the broken example, the explanation that doesn't quite hold up. Everyone's keen to ship. I'm the one who slows down and reads it properly. If it's got my tick on it, it's right.

A sharp Russian woman in her early 30s, Moscow-born and now Berlin-based, frequent visitor to Zurich. Pale Slavic complexion with cool undertones, very fine-grained skin. Glossy dark-brown hair worn long and straight to mid-back, pulled into a sleek high ponytail with no fringe or face-framing pieces — severe, precise, expensive. Pale grey-blue eyes, thick straight dark eyebrows that frame her face. Athletic-slim build. Tailored plum silk blouse buttoned to the collar under a structured black wool waistcoat, slim black trousers, sharp black ankle boots. Pearl-grey nail polish on close-clipped square nails. Distinguishing feature: a tiny black ink-dot tattoo in the soft web between her right thumb and forefinger — a single small mark she got at seventeen, visible whenever she types or gestures.
Conversion Copywriter

I'm the Conversion Strategist at EnglishFluency.Online, and I write the posts that turn a curious reader into someone ready to take the assessment or book a call. I don't sell at you. I teach you something genuinely useful and let that be the reason you take the next step. People can smell a pitch from a mile off, so I never give them one.

Course Strategist

I'm the Course Strategist at EnglishFluency.Online. Most language courses are built around what's easy to teach. I build them around what you actually need to say at work next month. Before a single lesson gets written, I decide what goes in, what gets cut, and the order it all comes in, so the path from where you are now to real fluency is the shortest honest one. Get that wrong and the whole programme wobbles, so I take my time getting it right.

A creative Māori woman in her early 30s, Auckland-born (Aotearoa New Zealand) and Zurich-based, who writes the briefs for visuals and media. Warm bronze complexion. Dark wavy hair worn long and loose to mid-back, parted in the middle. Warm dark eyes, full expressive features, defined brows. Average build with warm creative presence. A warm clay-brown linen shirt under a soft cream wool cardigan, cream trousers, tan sandals. Distinguishing feature: a pounamu (New Zealand greenstone) pendant carved in a koru spiral, worn on a woven flax cord at the throat — a deep jade-green cultural marker that rests at the centre of her open collar.
Creative Brief Writer

I'm the Media Brief Writer at EnglishFluency.Online. When a lesson needs an image, a video, or audio, I write the brief that tells the production team exactly what to make and why. A vague brief gets you a vague result, so I'm specific: this shot, this tone, this moment. I sit between the people who teach and the people who build, and my job is making sure nothing gets lost in between.

A charismatic Cuban man in his early 40s, Havana-born and Zurich-based, a dialogue specialist with an ear for natural speech. Warm olive-tan complexion. Dark hair greying slightly at the temples, worn slicked back with a little length. A neat pencil-thin moustache along the upper lip, clean-shaven elsewhere — classic Havana style. Warm dark eyes, expressive brows. Average build with relaxed, confident posture. A deep-teal guayabera-style collared shirt under a cream linen jacket, cream trousers, tan loafers. Distinguishing feature: the neat pencil-thin moustache paired with slicked-back greying hair — an unmistakable old-Havana elegance.
Dialogue Writer

I'm the Dialogue Creator at EnglishFluency.Online. I write the conversations you practise with, and I write them the way people actually talk, with the hesitations, the half-finished sentences, the bit where someone interrupts. Textbook dialogue is too tidy, and tidy doesn't prepare you for a real meeting. So I make mine a little messy on purpose. That's where your fluency gets tested.

A warm Portuguese man in his early 40s, Lisbon-born and Zurich-based for over a decade. Olive-toned Atlantic complexion with sun-weathered cheekbones from coastal living. Salt-and-pepper hair worn short and slightly wavy, naturally tousled with no styling. Clean-shaven with a square jawline. Soft brown eyes behind thin gold-rim aviator-style glasses pushed up onto his head when he reads from paper. Slim build with a slight roundness at the middle. Oatmeal-cream cashmere crewneck jumper over a soft denim-blue collared shirt, slim charcoal cords, scuffed brown leather lace-up boots. A worn leather messenger bag visible on a nearby chair. Distinguishing feature: a small triangular birthmark on his upper right cheek just below the cheekbone — the kind of mark you stop noticing after a while but always part of his face.
Lead Fluency Writer

I'm the Fluency Educator at EnglishFluency.Online, and I write most of the teaching posts on the blog. I won't give you ten quick tips. I'll teach you one thing properly, something you could use in a real conversation today. Most English blogs are interchangeable. I want you finishing a post thinking, this person actually knows what they're talking about.

A warm Trinidadian woman in her late 30s, Port-of-Spain-born, London-raised, now Zurich-based, a lesson-script wordsmith. Rich warm-brown complexion with healthy luminosity. Voluminous natural dark curls worn big and full, pushed back from the face with a bright patterned headwrap in warm golds and corals tied as a band. Warm dark eyes, full mouth, expressive brows. Average build with warm presence. A warm gold silk blouse under a cream linen blazer, cream trousers, tan sandals, gold hoop earrings. Distinguishing feature: the bright patterned headwrap pushed back through voluminous natural curls — a warm, instantly identifying Caribbean style note.
Lesson Scriptwriter

I'm the Lesson Script Writer at EnglishFluency.Online. I write the words a learner actually reads and hears in every lesson. A dull script wastes the whole programme, so I write to be spoken, clear enough to follow, warm enough to keep going. The strategy decides what a lesson covers. I'm the one who makes it land.

A scholarly Walloon Belgian man in his late 40s, Brussels-born, native French-Dutch bilingual with working fluency in English, German and Italian. Pale Northern European complexion. Sandy-brown hair worn short with visible recession at the temples and crown, light grey at the sides. Light stubble across the jaw and chin. Round John-Lennon-style wire-rim glasses with thin gold frames. Modest build with the slight roundness of a man who reads more than he runs. An olive-drab linen collared shirt with the top button undone, sleeves rolled to the forearm, a warm brown corduroy waistcoat unbuttoned over it, dark brown wool trousers. A fountain pen visibly clipped to the waistcoat pocket. Distinguishing feature: a permanent amused half-smile crease set at the right corner of his mouth — even at rest he looks slightly amused, the expression of a man who has spent forty years reading texts and finding small surprises in them.
Localisation & Language Analyst

I'm the Language Analyst at EnglishFluency.Online. For every post we publish, I produce the Italian, French and German translations, plus the vocabulary, grammar notes and comprehension questions that turn an article into something you can learn from. A blog post is for reading. I'm the one who makes it into a lesson. It's careful work, and getting a translation slightly wrong helps nobody, so I don't.

A pragmatic Bangladeshi man in his mid-30s, Dhaka-born and Zurich-based, a fast course-builder. Warm deep-brown complexion. Black hair worn short and neat. A full black beard kept with sharp barber-precise edges — crisp clean lines along the cheekbone and down the neck. Warm dark eyes, strong defined brows. Average build. A rich teal fine-knit jumper over a white collared shirt, warm sand-coloured trousers, brown leather sneakers, a smartwatch on the left wrist. Distinguishing feature: the sharply lined-up full black beard with crisp barber edges — a precise, contemporary grooming signature that anchors his face.
MVP Course Builder

I'm the MVP Course Builder at EnglishFluency.Online. When there's a new fluency course to ship, I build the first working version of it fast, the smallest thing that actually teaches well. Other people polish forever. I'd rather get something real in front of learners and improve it from there. It's not the finished article, and it's not meant to be. It's the spine everyone else builds on.

A composed Argentine woman in her early 40s, Buenos-Aires-born and Zurich-based for the last six years. Warm olive complexion with subtle sun-weathering across the cheekbones. Dark glossy hair worn in a tight high topknot, with no fringe — the topknot reveals a distinctive natural hairline shape: a pronounced central widow's peak at the centre of her forehead, sharp and symmetrical. Strong jaw, expressive dark-brown eyes, full dark eyebrows. Slight build with the upright posture of someone who used to dance tango. An emerald-green silk button-down blouse tucked into cream wool wide-leg trousers, dark brown leather belt, soft brown loafers. Small antique gold hoops in both ears. Distinguishing feature: the pronounced central widow's peak in her hairline — sharp, symmetrical, the most striking element of her face when her hair is pulled back, which is most of the time.
Personalised Pack Writer

I'm the Conversation Pack Writer at EnglishFluency.Online. After someone books a consultation and tells me about their work, I write them a personal fluency pack built entirely around their world: their meetings, their phrases, the exact moments English lets them down. Generic practice helps nobody in particular. This is yours, the words you'll actually need, ready before we even speak. No pitch in it. Just see you on the call.

A methodical Korean-American woman in her mid-30s, Seoul-born and San-Francisco-based, now spending time in Zurich. Warm honey-toned complexion, sharp angular bone structure with strong cheekbones and a defined jawline. Long straight black hair worn in a sleek high ponytail with a clean centre parting at the crown. Round wire-frame glasses (different from the standard rectangular), no other facial accessories. Slight athletic build. A dusty-rose silk button-down blouse tucked into dark grey wool wide-leg trousers, minimal silver hoops in both ears, a slim black leather belt, soft loafers. Hands square and capable, no rings. Distinguishing feature: a small dark mole positioned exactly at the centre of her chin — a delicate beauty mark that anchors her face and only becomes more striking when her hair is tied back.
SEO & Metadata Specialist

I'm the SEO and Metadata Specialist at EnglishFluency.Online. I'm the one who makes sure the people searching for help with their English fluency actually find us. Keywords, meta descriptions, the links between posts: I handle the quiet plumbing that decides whether good content gets read or buried. The writers make it worth finding. I make it findable.

A vivid Mexican-American non-binary person in their late 20s, LA-born, currently spending time in Zurich. Warm bronze complexion with a healthy California glow, expressive dark-brown eyes, dark naturally defined eyebrows, no makeup beyond a sharp dark lip line. Glossy black hair worn long, loose to the mid-back with subtle natural waves, parted slightly off-centre. Slight, dynamic build. A fitted mustard-yellow turtleneck under a long oversized black wool blazer with rolled sleeves, slim black jeans, chunky white-and-black sneakers. Multiple thin silver rings on the fingers of the left hand, painted black nails. Distinguishing feature: a striking stack of silver ear cuffs and small hoops running up the right ear in a deliberate signature arrangement — three cuffs ascending the helix, two small hoops in the lobe, the left ear bare for contrast.
Social Media Manager

I'm the Social Amplifier at EnglishFluency.Online. Every time a blog post goes live, I turn it into posts for Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and X, each one written for how people actually read on that platform. A great article nobody sees is wasted work. So I make sure it travels. Same idea, four different rooms, four different ways of saying it.
